We know everyone loves a pit stop whilst out on two wheels. Earlier this week we asked our followers on facebook for their favourite bike cafes – we had a great response from you all so we thought we’d share them… and some even gave a heads up on what you loved about it!

We’ll start with our favourite which also turned out to be a popular choice with you all too…

Located near Belvoir Castle (at the top of the main carpark), in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir, between Nottingham and Grantham, this little gem of a café offers the best views around whilst you enjoy a delicious coffee & homemade cake!

What you love about it: Their Flat Whites, awesome coffee & stunning view of the vale! Oh and apparently their sausages are popular with one of our four legged friends!

Located in Claypole, Nottingham this newly opened coffee shop is boasting great reviews! Serving a selection of scrumptious hot/cold food & drinks, it’s proving to be a hot spot for cyclists!

What you love about it: Best coffee and flapjacks

Whether you are a cyclist looking for a place to meet, recharge and unwind, or a local looking for a relaxing unique coffee shop you will be welcome at Caffe Velo Verde. A place where you can relax, feel comfortable, chat and enjoy great coffee, food and enjoy time with friends. They have ‘legendary’ bacon rolls or award-winning sausage for you in the morning, or go for the healthier options of porridge or granola pots!

Situated in the village of Askham Richard, The Grange offers a delicious range of snacks, light bites and hot and cold drinks. Whilst you’re there why not have a browse in the garden centre (or perhaps pop back another time minus the bike!)

Situated inside the Giant Store Lincoln it’s the perfect location for relaxed business breakfasts, a stop off for cyclists, or a great spot to relax after one of the many walks around the estate.  Enjoy a selection of teas and coffee, expertly prepared by their Stokes trained baristas and treat yourself to delicious homemade cake.

What you love about it: Great coffee, bacon butties & great vibe about the place ?☕?!

Bank View Cafe, Langsett, South Yorkshire –

The Bank View Café is also known as “The Spotty Cafe” after they turned polka dot in 2014 to celebrate the Tour de France coming past the front door! At this cosy cafe cyclists, walkers (even with muddy boots) and those passing by can always expect a warm welcome and good home cooked food sourced from local producers.

The cafe is in the heart of some fantastic countryside.  With great walking, mountain biking and road cycling on their doorstep. They are child and dog friendly too!

In fine weather, there is a garden to enjoy and when it turns cold, the fire is lit inside the cafe so you can warm up with a hot drink!

This little gem of a café is popular with cyclists, with plenty of outdoor space and serving a selection of warm & cold food – including cakes and homemade scones!

The Bike Cave in Driffield, claims to be The Yorkshire Wold’s best cycling themed cafe and bike shop and were nominated for one of the UK’s best cycle cafes in 2018. The cafe offers freshly cooked, homemade food, freshly ground coffee, loose leaf teas and homemade cakes made by their very own special Patisserie chef. Using local coffee roasters the York Coffee Emporium to create their own unique blend of 100% Arabica beans. They also hold maintenance evenings and social events throughout the year!

The Drop Off café in Edenfield pride themselves on welcoming the muddiest, sweatiest, stinkiest cyclists and their 4 legged friends to come and relax. With outside and inside sitting areas including a bike wash station for those extra muddy days. They sell fresh salads, panini, unique exciting specials, sandwiches, cake, tea and of course coffee.

Squires Cafe Bar was originally known as ‘Squires Milk Bar’ when it first opened back in 1954. Situated in the small town of Sherburn in Elmet in North Yorkshire it quickly became a popular destination for motorcyclists, with many coming from all over Yorkshire, the North of England and all parts of the UK. In 2002 Squires moved to a larger site on the outskirts of Sherburn which further expanded it’s customer base, with people now coming from not only all parts of the UK but from all over the world. The café is also popular for cyclists too!

What you love about it: A favourite for us as the starting venue for our Festive Fifty ride – we love the friendly atmosphere & coffee!

Established in 2017, Leger Lakes in Sheffield is home to two well stocked fishing lakes and an on-site tea room which has become popular within the cycling community. Serving a range of homemade food and cakes.

Located in Putney Bridge London, this cycling café is famous for it’s delicious pizza and often hosts cycling events – and when you’re not on the bike, it’s dog friendly too!

The commute coffee House and Cycle Workshop in Ilkley was born out of a love for cycling and craft coffees which means they are passionate about what they do. Located in the town of Ilkley a few cycle pedal strokes north of Leeds and on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales which is blessed with some of the best cycling roads in the country.

The Commute has grown into a hub for keen cyclists searching for the perfect stop off point for coffee, lunch, cake and those quick bike tweaks in their workshop. They welcome everyone looking for a cool place to relax, chat and enjoy some delights from their locally sourced, freshly prepared menu.
