The transfer from Penrith Rugby Club to Seascale Sports Hall will depart propmtly at 6.30pm on the Friday evening. Please be on time, you should aim to be there 30 mins before to allow for time to pack / load bikes. The coach will not wait for you (even if there are traffic jams on the M6 – which there are every year). Anticipated journey time: 1 hour 35 minutes (58 miles).
The transfer from Whitby Leisure Centre to Penrith Rugby Club will leave at 09.00 am on Sunday morning. Anticipated journey time 2 hours 45 mins (104 miles).
Cardboard bike boxes will be available at £22 each and can be booked in advance to collect when you arrive at the coach transfer. We recommend you also add some bubble wrap when packing your bike and bring a roll of parcel tape. These need to be added to your entry or purchased at the time of your entry. If you have ordered a bike box from Sportive HQ this will be at your chosen collection point Penrith/Seascale/Whitby.
With regards to packing and bike boxes, you can go as far as you want, the basic would be, front wheel out, pedals and saddle off, handlebars out. However it is generally advisable to at least remove the rear mech as well. Bring lots of packing tape for sealing your bike box.
To make things easier we are asking all transfer riders to pack their kit inside their bike boxes. This means you only have one item to search for at either end. We understand if you have a super size tent this might not fit. No worries, we can label this and transfer it separately. Bike box and luggage labels will be available at registration.
For those camping you will be able to assemble your bike at the Cricket Club Pavilion on Friday evening until 11:00pm. The pavilion will be available for bike assembly on Saturday morning from 04:00.
Those who are camping are welcome to store bikes in the pavilion which will be locked at 11:00pm. For those opting to stay offsite you will need to take your bike with you. We can take no responsibility for any bikes stored in the pavilion. If you are at all concerned, buy a bigger tent and take it to bed with you!
All those who have booked onto the transfer will get their boxes transferred. If you require your bike box moving please get in touch asap and we can make the necessary arrangements. Please contact us if you wish to get your bike box transported from Seascale to Whitby and haven’t booked onto the coach transfer.
